* What can Intercal do for my lab? With Intercal automated calibration procedures calibration time will be cut significantly-- often by as much as 80%. Consistency is another Intercal benefit. Each cal will be just like the one before, and you’ll get complete test data with every cal. The bottom line is simple ... with Intercal automated calibration procedures your technicians will be more productive and consistent. * What do I need to run Intercal procedures? Fluke MET/CAL, a Windows compatible PC, 2 IEEE Cards. * What lab standards do I need to automate my lab? Intercal procedures are supplied customized to utilize your existing lab standards, as long as those standards are controllable and capable of doing the required tests while maintaining an acceptable TUR ratio. * Is it cost effective for me to automate? How much will it cost to automate? Generally speaking, if you are calibrating a particular model number UUT more than six times a year, it will be cost effective to use an Intercal procedure. Because each Intercal procedure is customized for each customer’s specific needs, we can not publish a price list. Prices vary with each procedure. Contact Intercal for a custom quotation reflecting your individual requirements. * What type instruments can Intercal write procedures for? Intercal can supply procedures for virtually any type or make of UUT. BUS Controllable UUTs will provide the greatest time savings benefit. * If I license procedures from Intercal, what kind of technical support can I expect? All Intercal procedures are supported on a no cost basis as long as you use them. If you change your standards, we will supply an upgrade at no cost. If the manufacturer changes the firmware of a UUT, we will supply an upgrade at no cost. If we develop an improved procedure for one you have previously licensed, we will supply an upgrade without charge. Intercal is committed to total customer satisfaction. * My company develops their own procedures, why should I purchase them from Intercal? Because the cost of developing each Intercal procedure is spread over dozens of customers, we can supply the procedure for much less than the cost of developing the procedure in-house. With Intercal software you are not diverting valuable resources from the bench to create calibration procedures. At Intercal, creating automated calibration procedures is the only thing we do. * Is training available? Intercal can provide complete, on-site training in the use of each procedure. We will train your techs how to get the most out of each piece of our software. * I want to automate, where do I start? A good place to start is to provide us with a list of your workload and your standards. That way we can prioritize your workload and show you where you’ll get your biggest bang for the buck. We’ll supply you with a cost justification worksheet showing the payback time for each Intercal procedure. * Why should I use Met/Cal as a platform instead of LabView or HPVee? Lab View and HPVee do an excellent job in controlling electronic test equipment. They are not calibration platforms. MET/CAL was designed from the ground up as an automated calibration platform and today is the WORLDWIDE STANDARD in automated calibration with a market share exceeding eighty percent. * Can Intercal procedures run on my network? Intercal procedures and MET/CAL can be installed on any Windows compliant network. This includes Windows NT and Novell environments. * Can Intercal results be integrated into my asset tracking database? Intercal procedures can format results as ASCII text files that can be exported to virtually any type of database asset tracking program.
